The need for inbound messaging security has been realized by every organization that communicates via e-mail. However, outbound messaging presents an entirely different set of risks to corporate compliance efforts and must be included as a part of comprehensive compliance efforts. This paper provides an overview of several federal, state and international regulations that demand that organizations place equal importance on their outbound communications in order to protect critical customer and financial data, and explains how a policy-based messaging security solution can be implemented to assist with compliance efforts.
